Brno is the second largest city of the Czech Republic, located in the south-east
of the country, as the confluence of the Svitava and Syratka rivers.
The town is a political and
cultural hub of the South Moravian Region (population est 1,125,000).
Brno is located in the central part of Europe on the border of the Moravian Gate
through which routes that connect the northern and southern European regions.
In geographical terms, Brno is part of the Danube region and is historically associated
with Vienna, which is less than 110km away.

Brno is the industrial, business, cultural and educational centre of South Moravia
(approximately 2 million inhabitants ) and administrative centre of the South Moravian
Region
It is strategically placed at the centre of a European traffic network (junction

as transport infrastructure.
It offers well developed banking services as well as insurance facilities, real
estate, advertising etc.
Brno is also an important Central European education, science and research centre.
It concentrates on a whole number of research facilities and is the second largest
centre of tertiary education in the Czech Republic – 6 state universities with 29
faculties
It is the Czech Republic’s expo and conference centre.
As its airport expands, Brno is being made accessible to mass air travel by budget
airlines.
Although, like Prague, Brno has a relatively high level of private property ownership
and regulated tenancies, the lack of newly constructed flats, combined with the
influx of workers from outside Brno, has caused a buoyant rental market. Workers
migrating from outside Brno are faced with no other choice but to rent.
