The Troodos Mountain area provides spectacular scenery, many Cypriots have weekend
homes here and the winter provides superb skiing.
Some ex-patriates seeking peace and tranquility make their homes here,
living in the villages of the area and enjoying the Cypriot way of life 1,400 metres
above sea level. Paphos and the West is a thriving area. It is rich in historical
sites and excavated Roman villas.
The lower part Kato Paphos is the home for tourist attractions, running along the
harbour it features bars, taverna, nightclubs and many first class shops.
Paphos is where many new top quality developments are growing.
The amenities, and close proximity to the International airport have made it a favourite
with homemakers from abroad. There are smaller, quieter resorts to the west. Polis
and Latchi are now being developed but still retain their character.
