Alcossebre and its neighbour, Las Fuentas (the fountain), are tranquil villages, nestling amongst the orange and almond groves of the Costa Del Azahar (known as The Orange Blossom Coast).

Although a relatively unknown area it is easily accessible from the airports of Reus (50 minutes drive) or Valencia (1 hour drive), or a two hour drive from Barcelona. As it is in a conservation area it has missed all the high rise development of the neighbouring costas.

The marina at Las Fuentas is the dividing line between the two villages. You will find lots of water based activities in Las Fuentas. The countryside surrounding Alcossebre is ideal for walking, bird watching etc.

The villages are situated at the foot of Marcolina, and the views from the top of are absolutely breathtaking.

The whole area is a delightful mixture of ancient and modern, mountains and countryside, beaches and small coves. All the beaches in the local area are EEC approved. The beaches are gently shelving and even in the height of summer are very rarely crowded.

The two villages have a very good choice of restaurants, tapas bars and bistros, all within walking distances. Many of these boast splendid views over the sea.

You will find that although Alcossebre is a quiet village, it has all the shops that you should need. There is a pharmacy, a doctor, small supermarkets, greengrocers, bakery, electrical shops etc. For those of you who want nightlife, this can be found, but the nightlife here would not suit those looking for 'wild nights'.

Alcossebre is still a traditional village, and is very Spanish - just a few miles inland from here you can find lots of tucked away villages that have hardly changed in centuries.

One really good thing is that due to the Government status of the area, it can never get over-developed, and will always therefore remain the lovely, quiet, select area that it is now. During July and August the area becomes a holiday destination for some of the Spanish people living inland - but even so it still remains quieter than most other areas. In fact as the Spanish choose to come here, for their holidays, then it must be good!

Some consider that there has never been a better time to buy - The area is becoming better known, but can never become too busy or overcrowded so prices are rising here.
